Total Time ::: 1:05:19

::: Excellent, up-front, amazing stereo AUD that beats the shit outta some SBDs. Check samples for personal perlustration or teasers, flutters & giggles.
::: Warts: Bass could be higher in the mix - turn it up! "Keep On Shining" has a couple of brief stereo imaging changes (mike motion?). 3 tiny glitches in "Slick Dick" are on my tape. Surely missed a few dull spots, but it's never sounded better, ever! The early set is slightly brighter than the late set.
::: 19-22 November 1970 bill was Love with Arthur Lee, James Gang, Black Sabbath with lights by Spontaneity. I don't know if the taper recorded Sabbath.
::: No versions on DIME as I ready the upload, but this carefully mastered 1st gen should substantially upgrade previous DIME uploads by Satchel2011 (Oct'11), tonerman69 (May'09), jerktorrent (Nov'07), craig62 (Aug'06), nevoeiro (Nov'05) & previous EZT uploads by flicflac (May'05) & our main man who got it from me once upon a time long ago in a far off postal galaxy, davmar77 (Nov'04). (Note that most of these uploads were reseeds of davmar's).
::: Many thanks to DIMERs BlackMonk & zubbid for helping out with the still rather tentative band line-up.

Recording Information ::: unknown stereo reel-to-reel recorder & microphones -> master stereo reels -> 1st generation Maxell XLII-90 cassette, Dolby B on.

Playback 2013-05-05 ::: 1st generation Maxell XLII-90 cassette on Nakamichi 680ZX cassette deck, Dolby B on, azimuth & speed adjusted (pitched!) for individual recording, heads cleaned & demagnetized -> Sony Linear PCM Recorder PCM-M10 (LPCM 44.10kHz/16bit WAV files) -> computer -> Audacity (normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch / dropout / bump / pop / click / dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, NO equalisation) -> CD Wave (track splits) -> Trader's Little Helper -> yer ears. First uploaded week of 2013-05-18.

Futher mastering notes : Removed or reduced most all clapping near mikes between songs (reduced impacts one clap at a time) & lowered occasional offbeat clapping in left channel during some songs by the "outasight" stoner (so we don't have to share his psychedelic experience so intimately). Approximately 20 hours of clean-up went into this. I think it was well worth it.

This version (VERSION ONE) is for the purists, or those who like the original exceptionally wide stereo mix. If you would prefer a more traditional stereo mix with the vocals brought more to center, seek out VERSION TWO.

Line-up (unconfirmed) ::: Arthur Lee - electric guitar, lead vocals // Frank Fayad - electric bass // George Suranovich - drums // Gary Rowles(?) - electric guitar // Craig Tarwater(?) - electric guitar. (Or, one of the guitarists may be Jay Donnellan or John Sterling). The notes in the Sundazed "Love Lost & Found" CD seem to be sorta questionable. It would seem that Suranovich played the Fillmore West, then dropped out before the Fillmore East gigs, replaced by Don Poncher).

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

CoolSonics 246 ::: Thanks to the original taper & trader! ::: Corrections welcome ::: One outrageous mother of a recording & performance. The taper was not much of a trader (most of his masters have yet to surface) & I believe all circulating copies originate from my cassette. While we continue to wait for the 60s goods, this heavyweight experience is almost beyond belief & is guaranteed to re-map your synapses 'til yr flying in some far off galaxy with no more orientation about where up or down is, but you'll be surrounded by the sounds of Arthur's *L*O*V*E*. Enjoy!

Kudos to Zongo for life support, Lochner for mikes&more & Fast Freddie for runnin' Video Dick's Record Emporium with the bathroom office full of tape decks. Thanks to Hanwaker (few among us can keep his pace). Mountains of gratitude to Davmar, D.White, Sanchez, Elliot, The Florida Kid, Kloiber, Zingg, JTW, Bershaw, Boston Gold, Dixon, Moore, Gough & SO many more for all that collecting & sharing... Royal thanks to The Man In The Palace, Doc Tinker, Brinkhoffs, Barely Eatin', Reel Master Gaule, Parrish & all the traders who housed me thru my music acquisition & travel years. Hats off to Brother Kent, Uncle Jake, Little Queenie (& her neighbor Frank) & his honor Ptomaine Thomas. Glasses raised to Byron for musical horizon expansion & much obliged to J & Thurston for keepin' my concert fires burnin' since my continental shift. Thanks to the Mods for keepin' DIME alive. Enjoy, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
