My Notes:
--------------------------------------------------------------
This originally came from davmar77 who is one of my favorite sources for cool music. I have had this show for years on a high gen cassette and was glad to catch it on DIME. It's one of them "legends" that Dave "Tone" Malone and Reggie have spoken about over the years. It's a true New Orleans private jam session.

I wrote to Dave Malone and he got right back at me with the following...

"This was recorded on a crappy little cassette recorder sitting on top of the upright piano. I was a nervous wreck. This was a major musical hero of mine and I was scared-to-death. I believe the drummer was Steve Pavel who was the drummer for a band that I had with John Magnie (pre Rads and subdudes) called The Johnny Zimple Band. Fess had such a good time that we spent the rest of the evening hanging out and telling stories. Fess was saying hat we were gonna be his new band and we would all wear tuxes in one color and he'd wear one in another color, unfortunately no gigs ever got booked......Dave"

Reggie was known to have played out with Fess on occasion back in the day.

I made some spelling corrections, and added a variation of this "My Notes" to the original info.txt as I thought it was very pertinent and included it in the download as info2.txt. I also made an ffp as this only had md5. In the source, lineage and transfer there is an UNKNOWN between shn and flac. The lineage and transfer andditional transfer are combined below at the top of the original .txt. Also it is verified that this was recorded on a "crappy little cassette recorder sitting on top of the upright piano", which I have also added below.

While I didn't get this here, it is a reseed.

Thanks very much to davmar77 and lolita

------------------------------------------------------------
Second opus of Davmar production, nice show from the early 1977's year.

I done some adjusted level with Sound Forge 9.
Sbe's aligned with TLH.

There's a little hiss on this tape and I prefer to keep the bandwich intact with no NR.

----------------------------------------------------------------
SB ? UNKNOWN LINEAGE > CASSETTE > AUDIO CD > SHN

SOUNDS KIND OF LIKE A SB WITH AN UNBALANCED MIX OR
POSSIBLY RECORDED WITH SOME MIKES IN THE ROOM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks again to Davmar for his first upload, it was in Jan 2005.

Enjoy
