Contrast Clause:

- This torrent is an upgrade version to the torrents located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=400949 , and here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=485204 for the following reasons:

1) It is an upgrade to the torrent located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=400949 because it has DIFFERENT LINEAGE THAN THIS VERSION. The version located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=400949 is A RAW AND UN REMASTERED TRANSFER/VERSION OF A SOUNDBOARD RECORDING RIPPED FROM SILVERS FROM A BOOTLEG LABEL, IT HAS NOT BEEN REMASTERED OR TAPE SPEED CORRECTED. THIS VERSION IS A FAN MADE REMASTERED VERSION OF THE SOUNDBOARD RECORDING THAT NOT ONLY TRIES TO IMPROVE THE SOUND OF THE RAW TAPE, BUT ALSO REMOVES ALL THE GAPS OF SILENCE FOUND ON THE RAW TAPE, AND RUNS AT THE CORRECT TAPE SPEED.

2) It is an upgrade to the previous remaster of this show that we previously posted a version of located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=485204 because THE PREVIOUS TORRENT WE UPLOADED DOES NOT RUN AT THE CORRECT TAPE SPEED, AND DOES NOT HAVE AS GOOD A SOUND QUALITY AS THIS NEW REMASTER DOES.

3) It is an upgrade to the torrents located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=400949, and here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=485204 because it has a DIFFERENT TITLE THAN THE OTHER VERSIONS. The version located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=400949 is A BOOTLEG RELEASE TITLED "GUTTERPUNK'S AT A WAREHOUSE", AND THE VERSION LOCATED HERE: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=485204 IS CALLED "WHO ORLEANS", THIS NEW TAPE SPEED CORRECTED REMASTER IS CALLED "WHO ORLEANS: REVISITED". THE USE OF THE WORD "REVISITED" INDICATES THAT THE PREVIOUS VERSION OF "WHO ORLEANS" FOUND HERE: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=485204 IS INFERIOR TO THIS NEW VERSION, THAT THIS VERSION IS A REMASTER OF THAT REMASTER TO CORRECT ALL THE ISSUES THAT WERE MISSED THE FIRST TIME, AND THEREFORE, THIS RELEASE IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE PREVIOUSLY POSTED VERSION.

4) It is an upgrade to the torrents located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=400949, and here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=485204 because it REQUIRES A DIFFERENT NUMBER OF CD-R'S THAN THE PREVIOUS RELEASES. The versions located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=400949, and here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=485204 DO NOT RUN AT THE CORRECT TAPE SPEED, AND BECAUSE OF THAT DO NOT REQUIRE 2 DISCS TO BURN THE COMPLETE PERFORMANCE, THIS VERSION DOES RUN AT THE CORRECT TAPE SPEED, AND BECAUSE OF THAT, IT REQUIRES A DIFFERENT NUMBER OF CD-R'S TO PLAY THE COMPLETE PERFORMANCE.

5)This version is A NON LABEL/FAN MADE REMASTER, The torrent located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=400949 is FROM A DIFFERENT LABEL THAN THIS VERSION. The version located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=400949 is A BOOTLEG RELEASE FROM A LABEL CALLED "HIWATT".

This is A Group/Personal Project by those "Gluttons For Punishment", The 7th Son, Joel, Grendel, and Acapulco Gold.

New Source Notes:

This version is an upgrade to the previous version that was posted to the server, it has been tape speed corrected, and re-remastered due the fact that the changing of the tape speed will change the sound quality of the original remaster.

I apologize to everyone who downloaded the previous version of our project that was unfortunately running at the incorrect tape speed, and for having to download another version of it.

This was an error on our end, and we are sorry for not catching this issue while creating the project.

I would like to state that we didn't just dive head first into this project (just remastering without paying attention to the tape speed issues), before we work on a project, we always listen to our recordings and determine what needs to be done to it in order to make it sound better (tape speed being one of those issues).

We thought it was running at the correct speed, but we were wrong, our repertoire is mostly in Zeppelin remasters, and working on a recording of The Who is completely new territory for us, so we hope that you can forgive us for the error.

Anyways, we read the complaints about the tape speed issues raised by "Bombdiggity", and decided to go back and look again at the project to see if they were indeed right.

Luckily we always save all our files that we remaster on HD's and DVD-R's, so we went back into our computers hard drive to find the original files we remastered/worked on, and then re-worked them by fixing the tape speed by slowing it down by just tinkering with it, and taking the notes posted on the server into consideration, and we think we have solved the problem.

After the tape speed issues were corrected, we had to go back and re-remaster the files because the change in speed changes the sound of the recording, and so we've EQ'ed the project to correspond to the new tape speed, and we're quite happy with the results.

So the new lineage of this release is this:

"Gutterpunks At A Warehouse", (Hiwatt), SBD > Silver CD-R (1) > WAV (Exact Rip with xACT) > FLAC (Level 8, xACT) > TLH, Decode > WAV > Remastered WAV Files Saved To Hard Drive > Goldwave (Used For Opening Up The Original Remastered WAV File That Was Used For The First Draft Of The "Who Orleans" project Saved On The Hard Drive, then tape speed corrected (Slowed Down 3%), re- remastered, edited to remove all traces of gaps and silence, then re-split into new individual WAV files/tracks) > WAV > Flac, Level.8, Align On SBE's > Flac

What makes this new remaster different from the first draft is that this new draft runs at the correct tape speed, it has less harshness on the vocals (which were quite up front in the mix), it picks up more of Keith's drum fills (something that was brought up in the first remaster, but not as strongly as we fee it is here), and I can hear a bit more of the audience and the acoustics of the venue than what was presented in the previous draft.

So in conclusion, this version an upgrade to the previous version because of the following:

- We have corrected the tape speed issues that plague the recording.

- We have remastered to a point where the sound is superior due to it having a cleaner sound, better sense of ambience and audience presence, drum fills, balanced instruments, and smoother vocals.

- We also have changed the track list so people can (if they choose to) skip over the long banter the band have in between songs.

Cheers

Original Notes:

This is our first time doing a Who project/remaster, and we hope everyone here will enjoy our work venturing into new territories.

An excellent sounding (yet sadly incomplete) soundboard recording that sounds more like an audience tape than a true soundboard.

Reason I say that is because it doesn't have any of the telltale signs of most soundboard tapes (a dry and flat sound, with little to no audience presence) but this tape has a very warm sound to it, with signs of there actually being an audience.

I still have a hard time believing that it's not one of Freezer's tapes.

As I previously stated, this recording is sadly incomplete, missing several songs from the band's set, but anything from a performance is better than nothing.

I compared the setlist of this performance to other shows from 1971, and if the band stuck with the same setlist for the entire tour, it would look like this:

I Can't Explain (Missing)
Substitute (Missing)
Summertime Blues (Missing)
My Wife (Missing)
Baba O'Riley
Bargain
Behind Blue Eyes
Won't Get Fooled Again
Baby, Don't You Do It
Magic Bus
Tommy intro
Overture
Amazing Journey
Underture
Sparks
Pinball Wizard
See Me Feel Me
My Generation
Naked Eye (Missing)

Perhaps there is a complete Soundboard recording, or even an audience tape of this show out there that either hasn't been transferred, or is being hoarded.

The raw tape had a nice mix of the instruments, although it did have a little more bass than high end, and the volume was actually too low, so all it really needed was some slight tweaking to make it more balanced.

What we've done to make this project:

- We've tried to balance the instruments as much as possible.

- We've tried to bring out more of the presence of the audience and the venue.

- We've done some slight tape hiss reduction.

- We've removed all of the trails of silence found in the recording.

- We've brought the volume up to try and achieve a more pleasant level for listening, but we hope it's not too bright for everyone.

At first we thought about calling this project "Southern Comfort", which makes a connection not only to the city where the gig takes place, but also makes a reference to one of the cultural institutions of New Orleans, but then again, "Southern Comfort" has been used for several other bootleg releases, so we came up with "Who Orleans".

We hope everyone here will enjoy this.

Cheers!
