NOTES
This CD is not to be confused with other live Leadbelly CDs on other labels that only have an incomplete version of the 1949 show, this is the full show from 1949 with 3 tracks from 1947 as well making 21 tracks in all. Although the CD notes list the full band on tracks 1 to 3, only track one features the full Bunk Johnson Band, the other two are Leadbelly performing solo.
The second performance is a complete show from the University Of Texas and was recorded by staffers at the at the student radio station KUT. This is not the best performance Leadbelly ever performed but is a very important one as its his last ever performance and its said he knew it. Leadbelly was in very poor health and sadly passed away only six months after this show was performed.
