Notes

Jimi Hendrix Experience - May 26, 1968 (AUD - "1st Source, 3rd Gen" - 38 Minutes Long) Palasport (Piazza Azzarita/Emilia Romagna), Bologna, Italy

Not A Contrast Clause #1: Previously a version of this was offered back in 2004 by Vibratory (Many THX!!!).
That version was a Vibratory 3 Source merge, this is not that.

Not A Contrast Clause #2: Previously a version of this was offered back in 2007 by Longjam (Many THX!!!).
That version was a Marco Motoclassica 3 Source merge, this is not that.

This offer is from a single source, "3rd Gen" tape> CDR. This version is 37:20 minutes long, where the other two "3 Source Merge" versions are around 42 minutes long.
This version does not have the show intro stuff, and does not have much between the actual songs (tape-saving practice?).
I received this version in the mid-late 1990's, & the rear artwork looks to have the same info we used to find on the old (now gone?) great "Plug Your Ears" website.
Mario Motoclassica did the first 3 source merge, but it was supposedly improved upon by Vibratory afterwords.
From Longjam's description below, apparently this is from the "1st Source" tape, as the Foxy Lady solo is included here.
Also Longjam mentions that the "1st Source" used in both of the merges is from a "1st Gen" source. If anyone has a copy of that "1st Gen, 1st Source" recording, I believe there are plenty here interested in getting that, myself included (which I may have somewhere, & if I find, then I'll definitely pass on to you all .... as Jon used to say "Pass It On").

This is not a RESEED, but is a newly prepared 2013 offer.
I'm always looking for uncirculated, alternate versions, upgrades, etc., of anything Jimi.
If you have any of those & can not share, please get them to someone who can do so - THX!!!
Enjoy!!!

------------------------------------
I'm "lifting" (borrowing) most of Longjam's notes/comments for the following, many thanks again!!!
Show / Recording Notes:

Show:
Talkin about the gig. He was very late, the supporting bands had to play a whole hour more, waitin the man.... Jimi was found in some fan's house singing the old Fats Waller song "The joint is jumpin!!!.....:-)" ...so he was a bit stoned.... Plus there was a tremendous electrical trouble, Marshall amps were blowing up the mainfuses of the place. (a 3500 sport-seat arena!!!) Maybe one of the reason was we had 125 volts back then in Italy!!! So, Jimi was forced to play with only one amp, settled at mid power (not ten!!) without any pedal or other tricks...(maybe only in the last numbers,,) He sometimes apologize with the crowd, FOxy lady was the latest
single here and people keep asking the song....but, you know, it was a hard task to do with no feedback behind you...he did it at the very last moment. (i'm gonna do foxy lady, but aint' gonna work!!-)
Due low tickets selling, second show was cancelled and Jimi went to jam in a Club, where he was (maybe) filmed & recorded....but this is another story!!!
Ok folks, enjoy this recording, & dont sell it to any japanese Boot company!!! otherwise You will die soon as possible (ASAP), (but in a nice way!!) Ciao .... Longjam

Recordings:
The original tapes were recorded: Two on a GELOSO Taperecorder and the other (i think) in a k7 Philphs. GELOSO tape deck (Italian stuff) had a so strange recording head that only another GELOSO can actually play the tape.......
The Foxy Lady's solo was only recorded in source 1 & blah blah ... the third have better sound but it's incomplete and so on..).

source 1 Mastertape> old dubbing onto another tapedeck with a mic?> first gen tape> CDR
source 2 Mastertape> CDR
source 3 Mastertape> DAT> first gen tape (C60 tdkSA)> CDR

----------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE KEEP THIS LOSSLESS!!!
Support the band: Buy the officially released items, etc.
