Notes

OK. What is this record .... really? I took a wild stab at the release date, it's been a long time since I got this record. It was actually made in the USA by a friend of mine with the initials MM in the days before CDs were invented. Back in the day, he was releasing vinyl under the company name Tobe Milo and was licensing (which translates into 'cutting deals') for master tapes of rare Beatles stuff like the double LP of the Beatles' shows at the Sam Houston stadium to labels like Audifon (which was supposedly a European label but was actually American, ran by a guy named Victor Colonna) and "Four By The Beatles" was just one of Tobe Milo's dirty deeds. The disc label fooled a lot of people, I mean, without the jacket they thought it was a real BBC Transcription disc and I'm sure quite a few people own it and think it's real. MM was a funny guy; when I visited his home I was never entirely sure what he had that was real and what was a clever forgery. I remember he had a stack of cover slicks of the "Yesterday ... And Today" butcher cover that was six inches thick. He claimed they were real but then he showed me a poster of the cover art that he admitted was made from the original negative by him. I couldn't tell the two apart. And this BBC Radio Transcription label is just par for the course with MM/Tobe Milo. It's unclear what the catalog number for this release is; ST8663 is taken from the disc but the cover gives GEP8882 which is actually taken from the Parlophone EP "Twist And Shout" and has led some researchers to believe this record was pressed in Germany. I'm not too worried about saying what I have here because I'm sure the statute of limitations has run out for this. I've applied no noise reduction to this transfer at all and the only declicking was done by hand. Hope you enjoy!
