Total Time ::: 36:31

::: Non-audiophile but high guitar mix & sure to please some Creamfreaks. Check samples for curdling factors or dollops of sweet Cream.
::: Warts: Somewhat distant, some distortion, some dropouts/dullspots not repairable but fixed a lot.
::: There was an early show at 6:30 & this late show scheduled to start at 9:30. Terry Reid opened. 'Lites' by The Road.
::: Not entirely clear what circulates but I believe this is an upgrade for this source as it is a known 1st gen & has been remastered (without EQ). "Heavy Gague" Mid Valley boot includes this set seemingly of unknown gen. My notes indicate there MIGHT be a better quality second taper source circulating but I haven't located it yet, tho' I may have it on cassette.
::: Better quality than Terry Reid set (probably MUCH louder, especially the guitar!) but vocals very low & there's some distortion, BUT there aren't many vocals as the set is mostly fairly ferocious jamming with guitar way up in the mix.

Recording Information :::unknown recording equipment -> master mono reel-to-reel -> 1st generation Maxell MX-90 cassette, Dolby B on (transfer circa 1988?).

Playback 2013-11-03 ::: 1st generation Maxell MX-90 cassette on Nakamichi 680ZX cassette deck, Dolby B on, azimuth & speed adjusted (pitched!) for individual recording, heads cleaned & demagnetized -> Sony Linear PCM Recorder PCM-M10 (LPCM 48kHz/24bit WAV files) -> computer -> Audacity (normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch / dropout / bump / pop / click / dullspot repairs, clap reductions, volume adjustments, NO equalisation) -> CD Wave (track splits) -> 48kHz/24bit flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. Audacity used for additional version for CD-R burners at 44.10kHz/16bit. First uploaded week of 2013-11-16.

MORE mastering notes. Removed 3 brief complete master tape dropouts - 2.5 seconds & 1.5 secs at around 11mins & 1/2 sec around 15mins (mike shorting out?). Surely missed some dullspots but worked on most & a few I could only lower in impact. Master tape speed fluctuations last 30 seconds of "Toad" & thru audience noise to end. Occasional slight repetitive sizzle sounds at times, not really annoying - presumably mike frequency distortion or master tape deterioration. The reel varies very slightly in pitch through the set (which is normal). I devided the average I got in analog was fairly close & chose not to do progressive pitch changes as they would have been minor & been hard to change after the fact.

Line-up ::: Eric Clapton - electric guitar, vocals // Jack Bruce - electric bass, vocals // Ginger Baker - drums, percussion, vocals.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

CoolSonics 277 ::: Thanks to the original taper & trader! Many thanks to Zingg for borrowin' the master & oh so kindly runnin' me a copy while he had it - a gentleman! Sorry I don't see him no more. ::: Corrections welcome ::: Here's a fine piece of history, in what should hopefully be more amenable for listening enjoyment than what most folks have in their larder. In fact, I find it a relatively steady listen, tho' it does have it's overall sound issues & the occasional distraction I couldn't repair. Performance-wise, it rocks. The band is closing their American tour with this set & also seems to be aware of the curfew & gives the audience a real f'in' blast thru the 35 minutes, presumably to make up for the brevity. One never knows who is really takin' the time tolisten these days with such an astounding selection of music at their fingertips, but hopefully this makes its way to the ears of some who will ENJOY with some passion.

Kudos to Zongo for life support, Lochner for mikes&more & Fast Freddie for runnin' Video Dick's Record Emporium with the bathroom office full of tape decks. Thanks to Hanwaker (few among us can keep his pace). Mountains of gratitude to Davmar, D.White, Sanchez, Elliot, The Florida Kid, Kloiber, Zingg, JTW, Bershaw, Boston Gold, Dixon, Moore, Gough & SO many more for all that collecting & sharing... Royal thanks to The Man In The Palace, Doc Tinker, Brinkhoffs, Barely Eatin', Reel Master Gaule, Parrish & all the traders who housed me thru my music acquisition & travel years. Hats off to Brother Kent, Uncle Jake, Little Queenie (& her neighbor Frank) & his honor Ptomaine Thomas. Glasses raised to Byron for musical horizon expansion & much obliged to J & Thurston for keepin' my concert fires burnin' since my continental shift. Thanks to the Mods for keepin' DIME alive. Enjoy, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
