"Painter's Mill Star Theatre" was in the Baltimore suburbs. It was one of those theatre in the round joints, that had a rotating stage in the middle, although it never rotated for any of the shows. Being stationary likely made 20% - 25% of the seats unusable, as they would have been behind the stage, and the view obstructed. It had previously been known as "Painter's Mill Music Fair". It held maybe a couple thousand folks. It burned to the ground years later. It was rumored that it had been torched for the insurance.

His entire band had quit due a disagreement with his management, and had gone out on their own as THE LEGENDARY BLUES BAND. Muddy hired a new band, and hit the road for his final tours in 1981 to support the release of the last album in his lifetime, "King Bee". He never toured after 1981, and died from cardiac arrest on April 30, 1983.
