Source:
unknown taper and equipment > Revox A-77 @ 7 1/2 ips
My Copy:
First generation 10" - 1/4 track R2R tape (borrowed from my friend Pete)
Revox B-77 (playback) > Sony DTC-690 (DAT)
Transfer to Hard Drive:
Sony DTC-690 (16-48) > Audigy 4 Pro (via toslink) > Audacity (clean up) > AudioGate (16-44) > Cool Edit Pro (DC offset correction) > Flac (Level 8)
Speed Correction:
Adjustments were made by using the multi-track function in Adobe Audition 1.5 to compress/expand the file to match up with the soundboard reel
(Thanks to SirMick)
Final Editing:
Audacity (clean up a couple of pops) > CD Wav > Flac (Level 8) > Stamp ID3 Tag Editor
A very nice stereo audience recording.
My tape came from a 1/4 track 10" reel @ 7 1/2 ips.
I made a copy of that reel on my DAT recorder in the early 1990's.
Transferred to hard drive in 2011.
Cleaned up a few noises, tape pauses and removed some of the loudest claps one at a time.
No equalization or noise reduction.
Tape speed was inconsistant and SirMick lined it up with the new transfer of the soundboard source of this show.
A review by Professor Goody verified that this solved the speed and pitch errors.
This audience tape ran out before the end of the final jam.
Also check out the soundboard source as it has the entire show (but is in mono).
Enjoy

All done. It was much easier than expected as there were far less fluctuations in speed once I got into it.
Adjustments were made, as before, by using the multi-track function in Adobe Audition 1.5 to compress/expand the file to match up with the master reel.
