Total Time ::: 37:50

::: EXC up front clear AUD. Check samples for personal previsional prognosticated palpability prognoses & or heart-stopping, piss-in-your-pants pinches of aural reality.
::: Warts: Surely missed a few dull spots but got most, tho' some weren't repairable. Bit o' talking in "Sin City". Screamer somewhere nearby but shouldn't get yr dander up. "40 Days" -> "Almost Grown" trax split is off the mark.
::: Turn up the bass & the volume! The "medley" is UNCUT here (unlike David M's Source 2 tape).
::: This master incorrectly marked 1973-03-19. Correction courtesy of ol' Byrdshound Barndoggs, who recorded Source #2 himself & revisits the concert daily by way of the poster hangin' in his bathroom!.
::: This one goes out to Boo Reiners, a hometown boy who done made it good... real good. I imagine for him listenin' to this'll be like eatin' pigs feet & corn pone & gettin' down at a fiddler's convention all rolled into one.

Recording Information ::: unknown recording equipment & microphone -> master audience tape -> 1st generation Maxell XLII-90 cassette, Dolby B on.

Playback 2012-04-xx ::: 1st generation Maxell XLII-90 cassette on Nakamichi BX-300 cassette deck, Dolby B on, azimuth & pitch adjusted, heads cleaned & demagnatized -> Tascam CD-RW900SL pro CD recorder -> CD-RW -> computer, EAC secure -> wavs -> Audacity (normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch / dropout / bump / pop / click / dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, further speed fixes if necessary, NO equalisation) -> CD Wave (track splits) -> Trader's Little Helper -> yer ears. First uploaded week of 2013-03-09.

The tape seems to be a mono mike taped into 2 channel stereo equipment with taper adjusting channels independently! If not, twas a single point stereo mike with almost no seperation. Last song had such erratic levels in right channel that I patched what I could into the left, then only used the left channel in the final version (but the channels are so similar you won't hear it). I left the rest intact as further repairs are possible with dull spots, volume fluctuations, etc (but you need both channels).

Line-up ::: Gram Parsons - acoustic guitar, vocals // Emmylou Harris - acoustic guitar, vocals // Neal Flanz - pedal steel guitar // Jock Bartley - lead electric guitar // Kyle Tullis - electric bass // N.D. Smart II - drums, vocals // AND special guest : Barry Tashian - electric guitar, vocals.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

CoolSonics 223 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! My copy came from Salem's musicologist, BAZ himself, who kindly ran me a dub while he had the master borrowed one day many years ago. Here's to hopin' his folkin' is still smokin'! ::: Corrections welcome ::: Many's the year I hoped BAZ would come up with the first part of the show from the taper - who had unfortunately misplaced it (longterm...). I had this source tape for years but unknown generation & was over the top when I got this version many years ago & realised what an excellent recording it really had been. This knocks my original tape out. I will get around to transfering the first 1/2 of the show from the source eventually but it sounds pretty damn sorry ass compared to this first gen copy. Outstanding show. Barndoggs taped the last night as well as his own version of this first evening (Source #2), though this taper had a sweeter spot. While researching this I found out that one of the Texas shows was filmed - never knew it before. Where the hell....???? Gram's albums were pure magic for me. I loved the Burritos material with him, & was raised on a diet of bluegrass & psychedelic rock, so The Fallen Angels seemed like a natural to me from the first time the needle hit the wax. I reckon I ain't gotta say too much more. If you get it, you'll get it & enjoy it. This one's a stoned killer, magnified in part by the righteous sounds of the guest artist of the night - ex-Remains & Boston's own Barry Tashian. Get out your pipe & smoke it - ENJOY!

More recordings on the way, making up for years of slow netspeed. Kudos to Zongo for life support, Lochner for mikes & much more, & to Fast Freddie for runnin' Video Dick's Record Emporium with the bathroom office full of tape decks. Thanks to Hanwaker (few among us can keep his pace) for over 30 years of trading & friendship. Mountains of gratitude to Davmar, D.White, Sanchez, Elliot, The Florida Kid, Kloiber, Zingg, JTW, Bershaw, Boston Gold, Weeks, Dixon, Moore, Gough & SO many more for all that collecting & sharing... Royal thanks to The Man In The Palace, Doc Tinker, Brinkhoffs, Barely Eatin', Reel Master Gaule, Parrish & all the traders who housed me thru my music acquisition & travel years. Hats off to Brother Kent, Uncle Jake, Little Queenie (& her neighbor Frank) & his honor Ptomaine Thomas. Glasses raised to Byron for musical horizon expansion & much obliged to J & Thurston for keepin' my concert fires burnin' since my continental shift. Thanks to the Mods for keepin' DIME alive. Enjoy, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
