........whereupon, everything conspired to make this THE show of the tour for me.

first off, the sound in the cathedral was immaculate, no church spookiness here,so serious hat tip to the sound guys.

the wondershow band, after six shows, has honed it's considerable skills and intuitions to near perfection
the setlist, with a stunning new opener,is beautifully paced, and features almost all the highlights from the previous sets..
and then there's Will Oldham, just listen to his voice on these renditions, totally immersed,in complete control.
the whoops and hollers of pure joy ringing out,if ever the singer WAS the song.....

on top of all that, the taper gods were smiling down on me, to deliver my best rec of the tour too...
