The Police - Stewart Copeland Derangements (Updated)
Having noticed that there were no lossless versions of the 'derangements'
complied by Mr Copeland floating around, I decided to rectify this as
best I could.
For those of you who don't know, a quick history lesson:
Stewart Copeland was the drummer of a NEW WAVE band called THE POLICE.
After 6 years of great success they disintegrated at their height due
to frontman STING deciding that he would embark on a solo career.
Decades later, Mr Copeland released a rocumentary entitled EVERYONE
STARES: THE POLICE INSIDE OUT. Along with cutting and editing miles of
his SUPER-8 tape taken during their tenure as a band, he 'deranged'
some of THE POLICE's classic songs to help give the movie a soundtrack
where appropriate. Due to copyright issues this material could not be
released independently.
There is a torrent on Demonoid for all 7 'derangements' (04/01/2011) here:
http://www.demonoid.me/files/details/2175442/10516462/
The material is all encoded in Mp3, however, and while satisfactory it
is not as good as lossless by any stretch. Knowing that DVDs contain
high quality audio, and owning a legal copy of Mr Copeland's rocumentary,
I set about to find a way to extract as much of the material as I could
from the menus, where the music rests unmolested. What I managed to attain
is in this torrent:
All music is encoded in FLAC level 8; 24bit, 48000Hz.
Lineage:
DVD--->Ripped and encoded to FLAC by DVD Audio Extractor--->Audacity
1.3.12 Beta to separate the songs and keep the quality--->Demonoid--->You.
01 - Can't Stand Losing You -1584kbps
02 - Don't Stand So Close To Me -1537kbps
03 - Tea In The Sahara -1452kbps
04 - Walking In Your Footsteps -1462kbps
##TRACK 5 NOT AVAILABLE##
06 - Demolition Man -1240kbps
07 - Roxanne -1504kbps
**UPDATE 05/01/2011**
I noticed that police78 had a torrent of Mr Copeland's rocumentary, and
decided I would download the menus since there was a size discrepancy
between two of mine and his. This paid off with a full copy of DON'T STAND
SO CLOSE TO ME. Sadly, Track 5 which is ONE WORLD (NOT THREE) is still
absent from the DVD menus.
I can tentatively assert that different DVDs have different variations of
the material having downloading a torrent and compared it to my DVD rip.
If anyone has a copy of ONE WORLD in their DVD menu, please upload it, or
rip and upload it in FLAC via the method described above!
The only difference between this torrent and the one posted on 04/01/2011
is the inclusion of DON'T STAND and an updated readme, so anyone who
downloaded the first torrent only needs to update their torrent to recieve
the new files and continue seeding. Thank you for your support.
