AUD>MASTER CASSETTE>1ST GEN REEL TO REEL>STAND ALONE BURNER>WAV>FLAC

It's hard to know where to start with this one. It's the Patti Smith Group sans Patti who was out of commission with an injury. The special guests and setlist are mindblowing, unprecedented even. I mean, hi, for starters Iggy and David Jo performing in the same set. Just let that sink in for a moment. Then consider Elliot Randall, who played the guitar solo in Reelin' In The Years - a Steely Dan factor? Yes. Couldn't do the show without a couple of super-obscure reggae guest shots. Linval Thompson is a deep dub producer that I have been aware of if not entirely familiar with over the years. On the other hand, Tapper Zukie was a new one on me, and the fact that Lenny introduces him as having released "the greatest reggae album of all time" certainly got my attention. Fucking LENNY said it! Also, Leigh Foxx goes hogg wilde and the version of Goin' Down steers towards The Red & The Black. Before Iggy's bit Lenny introduces him as "needing no introduction." I thought they were playing I'm Waiting For The Man and figured John Cale must have just joined them. Boy was I surprised when IGGY started singing 96 Tears - and then adding in lines from Scene of The Crime! It's awesome. I could go on. This is as good as it looks on paper and that my friends, is pretty fucking awesome. Oh yeah, sounds great to my ears - big bottom, I turned the bass down a touch when listening - you can season to taste.

BAND: (this is what I know - there are definitely others)
Lenny Kaye - vocals, guitar, bass
Ivan Kral - vocals, bass, guitar
Jay Dee Daugherty - drums
Richard "DNV" Sohl - keyboards

With Guests: David Johansen, Tapper Zukie, Linval Thompson, Leigh Foxx, Paley Brothers and....IGGY POP
