Sam "Lightning" Hopkins was a true poet who invented most of his lyrics on the spot and never seemed to run out of ideas.
This album from June of 1963 ranks among his finest, thanks in part to the remarkable support of bassist Leonard Gaskins and drummer Herbie Lovelle.
