The "Marble Bar" was a venue that operated in the basement of a seedy hotel from about 1977 to 1985. In its heyday, both the hotel and the bar had been Baltimore landmarks. It got its name from a 70 foot solid marble bar. In 1977 it was in a rough area of town. The venue could have been really nice if they had the funds to restore it some, but that never happened. It was a lot of concrete, and smelled like a musty basement to boot.
