Notes from http://www.brucespringsteen.it/Blegsdx.htm
Some infos on this LP are wrong though, look on the LP cover .
A soundboard tape which has the honor of being
the most mis-dated one.
This particular venue is not listed by most books
on the subject, but the board tape is definitely
not from any of the other known tapes and certainly
comes from this period -
The tape was first booted many years ago on the
old vinyl "Cry Me a River", "Live in Philadelphia
I and II", and "Streets of Fire", the last of which
was probably the source for the "Streets of Life"
CD . The problem is, when did this show take place?
It does not match either of the audience tapes of
the two known Philadelphia shows.
The CD "Arena Rock" purports to be a complete
soundboard of October 25, 1976 at the Spectrum
in Philadelphia (see below), but in fact it simply
grafts Ed Sciaky's intro and the encores onto
this tape. The CD's "The Palace Theater" and
"Deep Down in the Vaults" list the show as
08/21/76 Palace Theatre, Waterbury, CT,
but there is an audience tape of that show,
and it does not match this one.
August 22 at Springfield, Massachusetts
has been used as sort of a generic date
for this set, but there are plenty of open times
for unknown dates to have taken place during this
time.
Goody adds:
This seems to be a conveniently reconfigured partial set from what appears to possibly be various sources as well.
I can't even confirm that this is all from the same show, but it could be. Judging by the placement of these tunes in this order
and comparing this set list with others around this same period, there are most likely possible omissions and rearranged
placement of songs, probably to fit on 2 vinyl sides. A true product of the vinyl boot era. I say various sources, as I
found there to be various pitch offsets needed to correct these tracks, rather than a single solution.
(I'm just trying to diagnose yet another cold case file and having some fun with it.)
Meantime, I'd like to thank all those archivists who got it to this point. I'm very happy to have run across
it at Dime and was able to make it sound much closer to what it sounded like when it was heard by whatever crowd first heard
it in whatever town on whatever day it turns out to actually be from... There may still be some undealt with pitch fluctuations,
and Roy's out-of-tune piano wasn't helpful at all in figuring this little puzzle out. Also, most of the bigger, more obvious vinyl pops have greatly been reduced and removed individually. I'm happy to sign off on it and excited to get it back out.
Enjoy this upgraded edition of some classic tunes and tales from The Boss.

Thanks to you Goody!
