Only a handful of these tracks have seen legitimate release, none in the 60's. Satisfaction and Get Off My Cloud were sourced from the West German, first edition CD release of Hot Rocks. However, both tracks needed a pretty big boost in the left channel to make them listenable. Both versions of 19th Nervous Breakdown, one with an alternate vocal performance by Jagger, are from a private reel-to-reel that was sourced from a fan's semi-private compilation. Most of the Chess tracks were sourced from a phenomenal collection, Chess Mono and Stereo. One or two come from the West German LP, The Rest Of The Best, released on Decca in 1983. All tracks are studio recordings... no BBC or TV performances. All tracks are true stereo. I have additional compilations featuring rare stereo (and studio outtakes in mono) in the works, if there's any interest.
Nice collection Ron, but note that some of these stereo mixes were released on the recent (2002?) Abkco remastered CDs, specifically '12x5' which features 'Around & Around' 'Confessing The Blues' 'Empty Heart' and '2120 South Michigan Avenue' (and the fifth track from the UK '5x5' EP, 'If You Need Me')
These had surfaced briefly on a 70s(?) repress of the EP, which is hard to find, so this more widespread release was very welcome.
However the '12x5' CD had a genuine exclusive in that it premiered the 'long' edit of '2120', in stereo for the first time; the original EP had a faded edit. The longer edit only appeared in mono, on an early European LP 'Around And Around'. Getting this in true stereo was a highlight of the 2002 remasters, I'd say.
The other tracks have also seen release on CDs in recent times and some are still in print, apart from the following:
'Stewed & Keefed' 'Hi Heel Sneakers' and '19th Nervous Breakdown (alt vocal)' are unreleased outtakes, and only exist on boots.
The stereo mixes of 'The Last Time' and '19th Nervous Breakdown' have never been officially released, and again are boot-only
'Tell Me Baby' in stereo is also a boot-only outtake; it did appear in mono on the 'Rest Of The Best' box set, albeit in low quality full of scratchy surface noise- possibly sourced from a boot LP.
