Christine Perfect was the maiden name of Christine McVie prior to her marriage to Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie. Born Christine Ann Perfect on July 12, 1943 near Greenodd, Cumbria, U.K., her early work under her birth name included a stint in the British Blues band Chicken Shack, recording two albums before departing in 1969. She was the lead singer on "I'd Rather Go Blind", which landed in the top 10 in the U.K. After departing Chicken Shack she recorded a self-titled solo album released in 1970 and then went on to join Fleetwood Mac. The rhythm section features Chris Harding on drums and percussion. Martin Dunsford, bass-guitar and Rick Hayward and Top Topham alternating rhythm and lead guitars. The guitarist featured on “When You Say” is Danny Kirwan, the bass, John McVie. Andy Sylvester play bass on “Close To Me”, “No Road Is The Right Road” features session musicians, whilst the Chicken Shack form the line-up for “I’d Rather Go Blind”. Throughout the album Christine is herself featured on all keyboard instruments.
