Notes

CSB mics (battery box, low-end roll-off) clipped on glasses, five feet from the left speaker

The recording is very good for a stealth audience, though as is often the case with quiet shows in rowdy clubs the audience is a bit loud between songs.

This was the first of Jeff Tweedy's legendary acoustic shows at Lounge Ax, and his first ever "solo" show. He was visibly nervous before and during the show.

Very nice setlist, with songs from every Uncle Tupelo album, most of the better songs that ended up on AM, and some choice covers, some of which were only played at this show. This was the first time that I really came to appreciate Jay Bennett, his guitar and harmonica work were stellar.

Jeff Tweedy: vocals, acoustic guitar
Jay Bennett: electric guitar, harmonica, vocals
