Notes

From the July 3, 1973 David Bowie and The Spiders From Mars farewell concert in London, at the Hammersmith Odeon. Although the concert was shown at least twice, that I saw, on US TV in the early '70's, it was later released on DVD and CD as 'Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture DVD' and 'Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars' CD. However, they left off of both the track with special guest Jeff Beck! Other documentation of the show says Jeff played on two tunes, one, the included here 'Jean Genie/Love Me Do', and 'Round and Round'. From the 'Ziggy Stardust Companion' web site at http://www.5years.com/Retire.htm:

This concert was also unique because it featured Jeff Beck - one of Mick Ronson's guitar heroes. He appeared towards the end of the concert and played on "The Jean Genie-Love Me Do" (augmented by Bowie on harmonica) and "Round and Round", but unfortunately these songs are not included in either the official concert album nor the video/film/DVD of the event (ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS: THE MOTION PICTURE). Tony Visconti has revealed that prior to the official release of the concert album in 1983 Jeff Beck was not satisfied with his guitar solo in the film, and was allowed to rerecord his solo -- only for Visconti and Bowie to find out later that it was really his bell-bottom trousers he objected to, and he was trying to find a way to get himself cut out of the film!

Here's one track they left off, and, AFAIK, is unreleased in any commercial form. This is from "Bowie and the Spiders From Mars Last Stand: His Master's Voice", subtitled "His First Farewell Tour 1973", TAKRL , in stereo.
