Notes

The Pirates
5th December 1976
The Roundhouse, London

Personal audience recording - at least VG quality!

This is one of the first gigs by the re-united "Original" Pirates - Yes, as in "Johnny Kidd And The Pirates"..

"Original" in quotes as the early-60s Pirates left Johnny, and these guys are the circa 1966 version.

I happened to see them supporting Eddie and the Hot Rods at this gig, not knowing quite what to expect. What I got was the cookingest, most relentless old-fashioned rock'n'roll band I've ever heard. Tell me what you think.. As the group may not be well-known worldwide, if you listen to it and enjoy, leave a message, so others will see how good you thought they are!

Mick Green is still in demand, playing with Paul McCartney on the "Run Devil Run" album, and touring, for example with Van Morrison. He's a guitar hero, a remarkable rocker. The Pirates still gig from time to time, and are still great!

Mick Green - Guitar
Johnny Spence - Bass
