The "Odd Rock Cafe" was a dive bar in Milwaukee. While it normally booked "New Wave" and punk acts, it sometimes also booked classic rock bands. It was a pretty small place, and it couldn't have held more than about two hundred folks.

The club had been closed for a month, due to liquor law violations, and the first band to play there upon their reopening, was, surprise, surprise, SPIRIT. The band had done a radio interview that afternoon, and most of the 30 to 40 people who attended, had heard it from the interview.
