This is the first set on the second day of The Jam’s brief residency at the Rat club in Boston (13 and 14 October).

The recording is of reasonable quality and is a cool document of a typical set on the band’s first US tour. The set suffers from technical problems (monitors etc) and the mix is a bit erratic, but this 28min gig is worth the download if only to hear Paul and Bruce moaning about the venue (“fuck the tables”) and the lack of movement by the audience (“this isn’t Bing Crosby, it’s The Jam”).

The full set probably had a couple of extra songs, but for whatever reason they were not recorded.
