5. Dig A Pony
22 Jan 1969
GB22.050
SOURCE: "File Under: Beatles" LP
From the so-called "boardroom tape", but strangely not among the John Barrett material on the latest Vigotone releases. This take is from the 8-track masters and not Nagra film reels, although here it's taped off-line with some extraneous noises.

A John/Yoko jingle which Sulpy/Madinger identify as being from the Montreal bed-in. I've used the traditional dating, from the Amsterdam bed-in.

22. Message To Japan
1969
SOURCE: "Doll's House" LP
While Yoko speaks, John plays versions of "Dear Prudence", the "Sun Riff" and what sounds like a rudimentary "Make Love Not War/Mind Games" in the background. It's difficult to date this without a translation, but Yoko seems to make reference to a "Washington Moratorium" - separate anti-war protests were held in DC on 10/15/69 and 11/15/69, and "Give Peace A Chance" was sung by the crowds during at least one of them.

23. Cold Turkey
Demo
Sep 1969
SOURCE: "The Lost Lennon Tapes, Volume 20" LP
John's home demo, with backing from Yoko.

24. John BBC Interview
Radio
BBC
8 Nov 1969
SOURCE: Unbooted (?) tape
This is introduced by Kenny Everett, though it's not clear whether he conducted the actual interview. This may have been included on the vinyl boot "Away With Words", but is pretty obscure (not included on "Filler Beebs").

25. What's The New Mary Jane
Take 4
RS4
14 Aug 1968
SOURCE: "What A Shame, Mary Jane Had A Pain At The Party" EP
Since both mixes were copied at the end of the session, that's probably what we're hearing here. RS4 (26 nov 1969) was a new mix from the 8/14/68 multitracks. RS5 has a simultaneous overdub of new elements over the previous mix.

27. Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)
TV
Top Of The Pops
11 Feb 1970
SOURCE: "Doll's House" LP
This is the less-common "knitting" take of John's "Top Of The Pops" performance, unfortunately incomplete.

28. The Beates Today Part 1
Radio
BBC
11 Mar 1970
SOURCE: "SPLHCB: A History Of The Beatle Years" radio series
Several segments of chat with a surprisingly-optimistic George and Johnny Moran for a special broadcast on BBC Radio One 3/30/70, just 11 days before Paul announced the group was finished.
