ringotour.com 1997 promo tape

This is an interesting tidbit from my private collection that I just came across. I had pretty much forgotten about this.

The story is this: I worked for a company in 1996-1997 that did web design and webcasting. One of our clients was the company that did Ringo's tours at the time. We got the contract to do the website.

One day I get handed a cassette tape. Upon inquiry (WTF is this?!?) I was told it was promos from Ringo for the site. That's what you have here. The first 9 tracks are Ringo's raw recordings that were sent to me on the tape. The last track is my raw copy of the first promo prior to compression and encoding. The original tape is long lost. This transfer was done by me around 1999-2000. The tape was played through my aiwa deck to my Tascam DA20 (no tape, just using it as an expensive ADC) to a Zefiro ZA2 digital capture card via coax s/pdif.

You have never heard this before. Nobody but me ever has before today. Enjoy this short but sweet little piece of web history.
