"She Knifes The Twit Again"

This is the first of five gigs (that I know of) that Richard and John did at the beginning of 1985, one with Simon Nicol, and a nice mixture of rockers and folk tunes. It’s a relaxed performance in the sports hall behind Benfleet Town Hall, an Essex town up the road from Southend-on-Sea.

I received this on CDR in a trade. There were four tracks, and in the wrong order. Obviously a tape to CDR transfer, but I have no idea how close the CDR was to the master tape. I’ve split to 23 tracks and applied light hiss reduction in Cool Edit. The fade out after track 09 is merely loss of audience noise between sets. Track 16 fades out as a result of flipping tape sides, but nothing significant is lost. The most sensible cut between CDR discs is between tracks 09 and 10, at the bar break, but when I did the original artwork I split the two sides evenly so it comes between 11 and 12 and as I’ve lost the original artwork file I’m not going to recreate it.

The following vvening the duo were in Wales. I have a copy of the partial show (I’m not aware of a full show in circulation) and will upload that too sometime unless someone out there has the full show that they could share.
