Notes

02/01/82 - Tokyo, Japan
Venue: Sun Plaza Hall
A decent but not spectacular run through for Japanese television. The format lent itself to an almost "Greatest Hits" style, and thus there aren't any suprises. The sound quality is pretty good due to the source, and there is also a video circulating which has the lyrics translated across the bottom. The highlight is "Charlie Don't Surf," which like most Sandinista! material in live shows is more lively than on record. The Clash back singer Pearl Harbour on her song "Fujiyama Mama." The last seven tracks are contained by themselves on the boot Give 'Em Enough Dope, and are referenced there as being from the same night. As there is no overlap I'm guessing that they might represent the remainder of the performance, possibly songs that didn't make it on to TV. I would guess that these were actually played between "This Is Radio Clash" and "Armagideon Time".
