Notes

Live in Generation Club, New York City, April 68 (day??)
w/The Paul Butterfield Blues Band
feat. Al Kooper and Elvin Bishop

In early 1968 Jimi was doing a lot of jamming, when wasn't he? Lots of his studio jams have survived from all through his career but what is unusual about this period is that three club jams were recorded within about a month and have been circulating for some time, The first two, from the Scene and Cafe Au Go Go, have been available on CD for some time but the recording at the Generation Club in mid-April has only been bootlegged in piecemeal fashion.

Participating: Jimi Hendrix guitar, vocal; B.B.King guitar, vocal; Elvin Bishop guitar; Buzzy Feiten bass; Paul Butterfield harmonica; Al Kooper organ; Philip Wilson drums; 'Stuart' piano; Don Martin guitar.

The session opened with two jams which didn't include Jimi and those have been left off this release. From then on the session is presented as complete as is available, and about time too.
