The Kansas Boxed Set is a double-disc, 26-track that contains all of the group's most popular songs — "Carry On Wayward Son," "Dust In the Wind," "Point of Know Return," "Hold On" — plus three previously unreleased live tracks, one demo and the newly recorded "Wheels." Collectors will certainly want those tracks, but they'll probably be frustrated by the album-rock staples that dominate the album. Conversely, most casual Kansas fans will be satisfied by the single-disc Greatest Hits, which contains all of the songs they know. The songs that they don't know — that is, the songs that form the bulk of this collection — may be among the best of the album tracks, but they still are weighed down by pomp and circumstance and are primarily of interest to hardcore fans, who will already have the original records.
