Notes

STEVE MILLER BAND - FELT FORUM, NEW YORK, NOVEMBER 23RD 1973
featuring BUDDY GUY AND JUNIOR WELLS.
Rare uncirculated performance.

PLEASE READ.

1. Introduction.
Since is not always christmas' time,in terms of great quality sound,
this recording needs a long introduction.
I always wanted to post this but the flaws and the imperfections of the
tape always stopped me to transfer it. Then yesterday, i thought, what a fuck,
people have to hear this, and since the most part of you are real music lovers
and are not spookie or snobby about it, i decided to do it.
2. The source of this tape.
Back in the late seventies, i use to trade with this guy from new york, that was
going to many shows, tape them, and send me first generation copies of them. The
problem was, that this guy had no money, and he was probably using the barbie's
tape recorder, so all his tapes had many flaws, missing parts, etc, etc....he used
to tape expecially blues shows, so i have a dozen from him, including an uncirculated
mike bloomfield and others uncirculated blues gems, but all are in the same status of
this one, and need a lot of work on it.
3. The recording.
The quality of the recording is a listenable audience, not great, but not really bad, clear
enough and enjoyable. I corrected what i could, but still there are drops at the end of any
song, some early beginnings and ends of the songs have some seconds missing, and
where indicated some songs have more problems. So to avoid a big mess, i only
corrected what i could and left the situation like it was. Even with all those
problems, in my modest opinion, this recording is a must, cause the music is too
good.
4. The performance.
Simply awesome, and the final jam is beautiful.
5. The date,
I have seen this date on some lists referring to a washington dc show, but one of
the few things i can bet regarding the ny guy job is it the correct date, cause he
was recording those shows and was really accurate about the date. This happened
at the felt forum the day after a Genesis show.
