Fairfield Hall
audience recording, probably off 3rd gen tape
It has a bit of historical significance as it's the first known Deep Purple audience recording done at the UK. All the other audience tapes from 1970 come from the European continent, mostly from Germany.
And there's a legend about "Wring That Neck" from that show clocking in at a record length of about 40 minutes. However, the guy who has measured that must have taken a tape running too slow. After correcting the speed of the recording (my tape runs a bit too slow too) it's about 34:30 minutes from the first to the last note, not counting the announcement and applause. However, that's still quite an impressive length for a single track ...
Sadly the quality isn't the best, but still listenable.
Line up is Deep Purple "Mark II" consisting of:
Ritchie Blackmore - guitar
Ian Gillan - vocals
Roger Glover - bass guitar
Jon Lord - organ
Ian Paice - drums
