In his brief liners to this disc, Ryder describes this as a live album cut in a studio, just running though their regular set of the time. The result is a session with longer-than-usual intros and soloing and a looseness that usually doesn't happen on a studio recording. Mixing up a set between angry Ryder originals and severely reworked R&B classics, this sounds more like the tape machine left running than an actual produced session. Loose, even bordering on sloppy in places, but loads of fun with a true live feel to recommend it.
