Rockford, IL
audience
This show took place 5 years to the day from the last time Eric Burdon played Rockford, IL, which was the other EB show that I torrented. This was an excellent show but a bit more subdued than the 1995 show. Burdon's vocals were great and the band was very hot but the show was about 20 minutes shorter than the 1995 performance and not quite as intense. Even though the show was recorded on superior equipment this time, 2 things affected this outing : the taper was ~ 50-60 feet away from center stage & had to move every so often to avoid groups of talking assholes. The other thing that marred the recording was the larger number of groups of talking assholes compared to 1995. Every way the taper turned, he was confronted by drunken bands of laughing/talking assholes who were there to see their friends and not Eric B. & TNA. They didn't know who was on stage : Eric Burdon or Bozo The Clown. The taper had (& still has!) a piece of advice for these pathetic losers : STAY THE FUCK HOME !!! End of rant....
The recording is very fine and any talking is virtually always limited to background low-level bullshit. Vocals are very clear, as are instruments.
