DAUD

This was the only time I ever got to see Love and I got this recording shortly after the show from a friend who was also there (and knew the taper) but I kept forgetting I had it until just now. I don't believe this is anywhere in circulation so I must apologize for holding out for so long! Those paying attention know that Mister Lee has been on a steady decline over the last year and actually just became one of the only performers ever to be sacked by his own backing band. On this evening in October 2003, however, none of this would have made sense. Arthur was in fine form this night, seemed to be in a great mood, smiling and cracking jokes and whatnot. The band was as tight as ever and their reading of Forever Changes practically blew the roof off that quaint music hall. "Old Man" was restarted midway though because, to paraphrase Arthur, "the band just ain't tight enough to do Bryan proud". They came back and nailed it. Following the FC performance, the band returned for an extended encore that included many classics, as well as one brand new song that sits very well alongside classic Love. All in all, this was a fantastic show and I am happy to have been able to witness this stellar lineup before it all fell apart. And even happier to have this recording as a reminder of an amazing evening.
