Notes

30 August 1972: Deutschlandhalle, Berlin, Germany

Sound Quality: Another almost complete recording from this tour—clear sound, but the guitar is much louder than the rest of the group. 'Naked Eye' and
Long Live Rock' come from a different source with a little more balance.

Song List: Can't Explain, Summertime Blues, My Wife, Baba O'Riley, Behind Blue Eyes, Bargain, Won't Get Fooled Again, Magic Bus (cuts in), The Relay, Pinball Wizard, See Me Feel Me, My Generation, Naked Eye, Long Live Rock (beginning).

Details: Another one of the better shows of the tour, as the sloppiness of the earlier shows seems to have faded away somewhat. Moon claims to have played the violin on 'Baba O'Riley' before being called "a lying bastard" and one of the most amusing parts of the tour (and in Who history in general) is the ritual in which Townshend kicks him off the stage so he can't sing in 'Behind Blue Eyes'—this can be heard clearly at this show and the upcoming Munich concert. 'Bargain' is very long here, but about all that can be heard during the improvised ending are Townshend's chords—the guitar is also slightly out of tune in 'Won't Get Fooled Again'. Some nice jams (including an obsessively repeated guitar phrase) make this immensely long 'Magic Bus' somewhat entertaining, and both 'he Relay' and 'Naked Eye' are also highlights.
