Notes

vinyl 7" EP - remastered

Tracks 02-06 all stem from the initial recording sessions for "Back To The Egg": they are rough mixes prepared at the end of 4 and a half weeks of recording at the "Spirit of Ranachan" studio in Campbeltown between June 29th and July 27th, 1978 (see Madinger - Easter p. 240).

These tracks also appear at the end of disc 1 of Masterfraction's 2CD release, Eggs Up (tracks 17-18-19-21). On that disc the songs have been taken from a different - tape - source, running at the correct speed and sounding much cleaner. That said, this EP has more of the authentic vinyl bootleg feel (complete with some hiss in evidence, but nothing too bad). Besides, "Arrow Through Me" lasts 3'34" here, while it is faded out at 2'58" on the Masterfraction disc, so this is actually the preferred source for this particular track (so also Madinger - Easter p. 243).
The bookending tracks 01 & 07 are excerpts from an undated interview by Roger Scott of the BBC (I think, though I couldn't find it back in Madinger & Easter's book).
