Notes

Fast Women & Slow Horses is the sound of Dr. Feelgood in a crisis — there's a reason why it's the last album to feature the original rhythm section of John Martin and John Sparks. The group is uncertain whether it wants to pursue a pop crossover or stick to R&B, and the whole record suffers as a result. The production is clean and stiff, the performances bland, and the material, with the exception of Difford and Tillbrook's passable "Monkey," largely undistinguished. Even though it meant that the original group had to effectively disband, Fast Women & Slow Horses signalled it was time for a change within the group itself.
