The Beatles - New Year's Day! (The Decca Audition) (Apple Fake) (Dr. Ebbetts)

Well folks, according to the thread at http://www.sharingthegroove.org/msgboard/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34977 (Beatles & Dr. Ebbetts: The "Safe" Albums...) this is one of Dr. Ebbetts' releases which is safe to post on the groove.

More information at: http://www.bootlegzone.com/album.php?name=cdc-010162&section=1

Quote from the above link: "The legendary Decca audition of January 1, 1962 in best ever sound quality. Excellent mono."

I downloaded this one last summer from the alt.binaries.beatles newsgroup. If I remember correctly it was posted by (the legendary) apes-r-fools. His rip came from an original Dr. Ebbetts CD-R. The torrent offered here contains a re-rip, taken from the CD-R I burned back then. So, the generation for this would read something like this:

original Dr. Ebbett CD-R -> WAV (EAC) -> SHN (?) -> WAV (mkWACT) -> CD-R (Nero) -> WAV (EAC) -> FLAC (FLAC frontend)

This is the first time I used FLAC frontend to encode WAV-files. From what I have read it compresses more than SHN, especially in case of a mono recording (like this one)? This particular set of WAV-files is 355 MB. Compressed with SHN it's 235MB, but in FLAC it's only 108MB. Although I think it all works out fine, please get in touch in case of an error.

Artwork, and a md5 for all files (although FLAC doesn't need a separate md5) is included with the torrent.

The total download is 114MB for y'all to enjoy!
