Notes

Notes from the artwork (not all are accurate):

Tracks 1-12 taken from an unedited Abbey Road source tape.
These recordings provide us with a look at the Beatles at work at the Abbey Road Studios, you may notice that all of the tracks here have come out previously in one form or another on various packages over the last 2 years, but here we have an unedited tape source, which has received no filtering or noise reduction as many of the leading manufacturers of bootleg CD's do nowadays.

Firstly, track one from this compilation ''She Loves You '' contains two attempts to remix a mono master tape into stereo, as you can hear from the results here, the second was never used. ''This Boy'' was remixed for stereo in 1966 from take 15, here we have the complete recording of that day's remix, including a couple of seconds of the original '63 sessions pre-song chatter, this precedes the version found on the More Masters 3-CD set, as this source contains some unidentified studio noise just before the track begins.

''That Means A Lot'' takes 20, 21, 23, and test follows, a remake, where the boys decided that this one was to be left on the shelf. ''Strawberry Fields Forever'' - Remix Mono 3, called by George Martin himself follows along with Take 9, with a new vocal. ''Penny Lane'' - remix mono 8, 9 and10, presented here complete in the order they were mixed. ''Mr.Moonlight '' - a 1982 stereo mix of the released edit of takes 4 and 8, plus the complete stereo mix of take 4.

''Obla-Di Obla Da'' Take 5, is an upgrade on previous releases, this version is much cleaner than what appeared on Yellow Dog's Unsurpassed Masters Vol.7. ''What You're Doing'' - Take 11, this was the centre piece of the Barrett Tapes, and is still a joy to listen to time and time again. ''From Me To You'' - two Stereo mixes with slight variations. ''Thank You Girl'' - Track 2 Take 14, plus another stereo mix follows. ''Yes It Is'' - a 1982 stereo mix, followed by a collection of tracks from the ''I Will'' Sessions.

These have previously surfaced on an earlier Unicorn release and are presented here as one track from that tape source. ''Down In Havana'' - an ad-lib from Paul leads straight into ''Step Inside Love'' and ''Los Paranoias''. ''The Way You Look Tonight'' is another acoustic song from Paul, based loosely around the lyrics of ''I Will''. What follows is John, Paul and Ringo jamming in the studio which cuts straight into ''Can You Take Me Back'' although only a short excerpt appeared on the White Album, here we have an unedited version of the track, different to what appeared on the Vigotone release, it seems that the Vigotone source had been edited in the middle. These two versions have been edited together to make a more complete rack on Unicorn's "Studio Collection".
