Originating from Syracuse, Jam Factory was a multiracial group with a horn section, in a style somewhere between Chicago, Sly and The Family Stone and numerous East Coast Italian-American rock/soul groups. Produced by Ken Cooper, their only album displays seven very similar tracks written by Mark Hoffman, Gene McCormick or Steve Marcone, and ends with the best song, J.Houston's Mr.Slow. The music is well played but a overall lack of energy and good songs assures them an obvious place in the "also ran" section of late sixties groups. Their album came housed in a black and white sleeve with a weird drawing.

Ken Cooper would later produce the more interesting Cynara. Earl Ford and Joe English became session musicians and English drummed behind Paul McCartney's Wings, Sea Level and many other groups.
