The Police - The Rat, Boston, MA, 1978-10-29 (reseed)
Here's an early Police show recorded in Boston in the fall of 1978. Recorded at The Rathskeller in Kenmore Square just a stones throw from Fenway Park, this Basement club was the premier venue for Punk and New Wave in Boston. A friend of mine's band played "The Rat" often and I can testify that it was as intimate as it was roudy. This show is originally listed as soundboard, however the sound is in Mono and was probably EQ'd at sometime (samples below) . I got this show in a trade a couple years back.
This one just turned up a few years ago and the sound
is amazing. It's the earlist Police show available with
them as a three piece band and the only known recording
where they played "Dead End Job". This one's essential
for any Police collection.
