Bob Dylan - 4 rare tracks from 1966
Almost everything in circulation from Dylan's 1966 tour is collected on the CDs "Genuine Live 1966" and "Jewels and Binoculars", except these four tracks. These are from my tape collection, I haven't done any EQing or tampering of any kind. I wish my copies were closer to the master, but until somebody else coughs that up, this will round out your collection.
Tell Me Momma - Sheffield; May 16, 1966
unknown generation>Maxell MX metal tape>Audacity FLAC
I got this from a highly placed tape collector when it first appeared, so I think this is low generation. This was used as a demo for Dylan's publisher Dwarf Music. It is distinctive for the short vocal mic failure at 2:15. All the copies I've heard have this same over-saturated sound.
Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues rehearsal - Manchester; May 17, 1966
"Stars Of '66 Vol. 1" vinyl>Maxell MX metal tape>Audacity FLAC
This short performance is identified as a rehearsal at the Manchester Free Trade Hall before the show. It might be more properly called a soundcheck. The volume fluctuates as the crew is setting their levels. This has appeared on a couple of obscure bootleg CDs, but they all seem to derive from the 1986 "Stars Of '66" vinyl.
Visions Of Johanna audience tape - London; May 27, 1966
"Stars Of '66 Vol. 2" vinyl>Maxell MX metal tape>Audacity FLAC
This is identified as an audience tape. It certainly sounds like a different source than the one found on "Genuine Live 1966" and numerous other CDs. It originates from an acetate, so there's plenty of clicks.
It's All Over Now, Baby Blue audience tape - London; May 27, 1966
"Stars Of '66 Vol. 2" vinyl>Maxell MX metal tape>Audacity FLAC
