Notes:

This is part 2 of a 2 part series, the 1st part is a remaster of the band's performance The Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, California, on January, 5th, 1969.

This is the band's first ever performance at The Boston Tea Party (at which they would play 2 sets this night), and the 1st show of a 4 night stint at the venue.

The band loved the venue, and the audience so much that they came back several times to play shows, and would do very long, extended sets for the audience.

The most famous show the band would play at The Tea Party would be their show on January, 26th, 1969, legend has it that the played close to 4 hours that night, using up all their material, and playing Elvis Presley covers.

It's also been said that Steven Tyler of Aerosmith was in the audience that night, and that this performance had a life changing effect on him, which it obviously did.

The band would speak fondly about playing in Boston throughout their entire time together, and they were very nostalgic about the Tea Party when they had reached superstatus and started playing stadiums and arena's, at the 71 Boston Garden's performance, the band dedicated "Dazed And Confused" for the Tea Party.

At this point in their careers though, the band are playing it safe, and are doing a very tight set to see how the crowds will respond to them.

This is a period of time in the bands career that Zeppelin fans wish they could've experienced, a time when the group were young, hungry, and just starting out.

They're trying to find their sound, and fleshing out their setlist for the crowds, a time when it was all trial and error for them.

This is a decent sounding recording, taped from a slight distant from the stage, a little muddy in some places, but does have some moments of clarity, and is quite enjoyable.

The tape is a little more heavy on treble than it is on low end, the bass and drum fills are a little low in the mix.

The goal of this project was to try and bring out some more low end in the recording, and create more balance to the instruments.

What we've done to make this project:

- We've reduced the volume of the raw recording a bit, the raw tape was originally running a little hot, so we've brought the volume down to a more reasonable level.

- We've tried to balance the instruments as best we could, originally the guitar was the most up front in the mix than the bass and drums were, so we've tried to balance the sound as best we could.

- We've tried to reduce as much tape hiss as possible.

As I stated, this is part 2 of a 2 part series, the 1st part is a remaster of the band's performance at The Whisky A Go-Go on January, 5th, 1969.

We originally wanted to combine both remasters together in the same folder, but because of recent changes to Dime uploading regulations/policies about combining 2 different performances in the same torrent, the project has been split up into 2 parts.

That's why the project is called "Whisky And Tea", it was supposed to consist of a remaster of the show at The Whisky, and a remaster of the show at The Boston Tea Party.

It was posted to the server, but was pulled because the raw recording turned out to be lossy.

I checked the files before I started remastering, and things looked alright on my end, and the fact that the show was on Dime before made me think that there weren't any issues with the recording, but since it's considered lossy, I'd like to apologize to everyone who picked it up because of that.

It won't happen again, and I hope this incident will not discourage fellow community members from picking up our projects.

I do hope that whoever picked the show up before it was pulled had a chance to listen to the project, and I hope they enjoyed the work we did.
