Two (fairly brief) concerts performed by the Fab Four live on British TV to an audience of lucky NME (New Musical Express) readers. 45 years ago, the NME was a very influential British music magazine and its readers voted the Beatles best band in both years hence the TV appearances (they were voted best band in other years as well but 1963's performance does not appear to have survived, 1966's was not filmed for contractual reasons and the band did not play in public after that year).
Both shows are quite tight and the sound is pretty good, especially considering when the recordings were made. As these recordings were probably made by a line off the PA system, there is not too much audience noise while the band are playing (unusual for a Beatles show!)
